Buyer’s Guide to Choosing Safety Vests

Safety vests help improve worker visibility across construction sites, roadwork, transport, warehouses and other busy workplace environments. Insinc’s range includes day-only and day/night hi-vis vests in orange and yellow, along with TTMC, STMS, flame-retardant and fleece-lined options.

Selected styles are available in sizes from Small through to 8XL. Bulk 120gsm polyester day/night vests are also available in cartons of 24 for businesses outfitting larger teams.

Day-Only or Day/Night Safety Vest?

Day-only vests suit workplaces where visibility is mainly required during daylight hours. Day/night vests include additional visibility features for work conducted in changing or lower-light conditions.

Orange TTMC and yellow STMS options are available across selected zip-front styles. Check the specific workplace, road or site requirements before choosing a vest, as day-only, day/night, TTMC and STMS garments are not automatically interchangeable.

Standard, Flame-Retardant or Fleece-Lined?

Standard polyester vests provide lightweight visibility for general workplace use. Selected orange and yellow zip vests are listed as flame-retardant, making them options for environments where this property is required by the workplace risk assessment.

The orange flame-resistant PU vest includes a fleece lining for additional warmth in colder conditions. However, a fleece-lined vest should not be selected solely for comfort where specific flame, weather or visibility standards apply.

Choose the correct colour, size, visibility category and protective specification for the task. Ensure the vest fits comfortably over work clothing without being excessively loose, and follow the manufacturer’s care instructions to help maintain its visibility and protective properties.
